(c)(iv) Dental Nurses are not employed in the School Dental Service (SDS).
(c)(v) There are no "other" occupational groups employed in the SDS.
(d)(i) The waiting time figure for a student's first appointment in the SDS cannot be provided. This data is not currently collected by Dental Health Services (DHS). DHS is implementing an electronic patient data base system in the SDS which will enable waiting time reporting, including waiting time to a student's first appointment.
(d)(ii) The number of students waiting for their first appointment cannot be provided. This data is not currently collected by DHS. DHS is currently implementing an electronic patient data base system in the SDS which will enable the number of students on wait list to be reported.
Students are generally provided with an initial course of care during the first year of enrolment in the SDS. (All school children are eligible for the School Dental Service from the year they turn five until the end of Year 11 or the attainment of 17 years of age, whichever comes first). Students are then placed on a recall waiting list to undergo a periodic examination which is dependent upon their clinical needs. Emergency dental care is provided as required.
