I refer to the recent bushfires in and around Wanneroo, and I ask: (a) can the Minister confirm the total number of homes and significant structures lost in the recent bushfires; (b) how many of the homes or properties lost in the fires
are owned by the Department of Planning or the Western Australian Planning
Commission; (c) can the Minister confirm that all the necessary
firebreaks or other bushfire mitigations, required by Local or State
government, had been put in place for all Department of Planning or Western
Australian Planning Commission owned properties: (i) prior to the fires occurring; and (ii) by 1 November 2023 in accordance with the timeframes
required by Local Council; and (d) if no to (c), why not?

The WAPC owns and maintains Lake Mariginiup reserve and the precinct of WAPC properties that surrounds the lake which are reserved for conservation purposes under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and registered as Bush Forever site 147.
All firebreaks were in place by November 2023 and maintenance works are ongoing in accordance with the Bush Fires Act 1954 .
