I refer to question on notice No. 3271 asked on 15 February 2011, and ask —
(1) What is the current total annual groundwater abstraction, in gigalitres, for each of the sub-areas within the East Murchison and Goldfields Groundwater Areas?
(2) If feasible, please state the proportion of the total groundwater allocation in each sub-area that is hyper-saline (e.g. 5000mg/L TDS and above) and that which is brackish or fresh (less than 5000mg/L TDS).
(3) How many water licence applications for one gigalitre or greater has the Department of Water received or been notified of but is yet to assess in each sub-area of the East Murchison and Goldfields Groundwater Areas?
(4) In relation to (3), what is the total amount of water, in gigalitres, these applications amount to, by sub-area?
(5) In relation to (4), if feasible, please state whether the applications are for hyper-saline or brackish-to-fresh groundwater resources.
