I refer to the rapidly growing number of students in the suburb of Vasse, and I ask: (a) what is the current number of enrolled students at Vasse Primary School; (b) what is the expected number of enrolments in 2019; and (c) what is the timeframe for the development of a second campus or primary school in the Vasse precinct (given land for this project was acquired under the former Liberal Government)?

(a)        772 as at the census date in semester 1, 2018. These figures comprise kindergarten and full-time students.
(b)       770 students.
(c)        On 17 April 2018, the Western Australian Planning Commission granted approval for the Vasse Development Area Development Guide Plan, which confirmed a new location of the new primary school site. The Department of Education has not commenced discussions with the landowner regarding acquiring the site. The timeframe for the development of a second primary school in the Vasse area has not been determined. The Department will continue to assess the school’s projected student enrolments to determine when a new school is required in the Vasse precinct.
