LIQUOR RESTRICTIONS
1574. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the minister representing the
Minister for Racing and Gaming:
My question is to the minister
representing the Minister for Police. I refer to the article in the Broome Advertiser regarding the apparent reduction in crime and the minister
linking that to alcohol restrictions.
(1) Given the
apparent success of the alcohol restrictions, is the minister considering
rolling them out across the metropolitan region or will they only remain in
place for certain regional centres?
(2) Has any analysis been done to assess whether there
is any relationship between the sharp increase in needles being given out and appearing
as litter in the streets of Broome and alcohol restrictions being implemented?
