THOMPSON STREET, WILUNA — HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
I refer to the housing development in Thompson Street, Wiluna, funded by royalties for regions; the answer to a question without notice asked on 30 August 2011 of the Minister for Housing; and the Kalgoorlie Miner article of 22 September 2011 entitled “Cost blow-out for housing ‘debacle’”. (1) Why did the development blow out by $257 000? (2) What is the estimated cost of the damage sustained by these houses? (3) Why is the Department of Housing’s Government Regional Officers’ Housing revenue funding picking up the shortfall, not the royalties for regions fund? (4) Why was no licence to build these buildings required from the Shire of Wiluna? (5) Who was responsible for the oversight of these constructions? (6) When will the construction recommence or has the construction recommenced? Hon SIMON O’BRIEN
