I refer to the psychiatric intensive care unit for older adults at Selby Lodge in Shenton Park, and ask -
(1) Is the unit funded under the northern metropolitan mental health services?
(2) Is intake for the unit limited to residents in the Northern Metropolitan region?
(3) How many people per region are on the waiting list for this facility?

(1) The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is funded within the base budget of the Older Adult Mental Health program, which is a part of the North Metropolitan Area Health Service Mental Health (NMAHS MH).
(2) Yes, referral pathway to the PICU is from the treating consultant psychiatrists of the NMAHS MH Older Adult Mental Health program.
(3) The first priority to the PICU is from Selby Lodge, ongoing referrals are currently being generated from other services within the NMAHS MH Older Adult Mental Health program. The estimated number of patients within the NMAHS MH who may benefit from this PICU is currently at 27.
