(1) What research has been carried out in Western Australia to determine the success or otherwise of middle and upper high schools versus the more traditional model of senior high schools?
(2) What are the TEE results for students from senior high schools which receive students from middle schools (for example, Mandurah, Clarkson and Mindari) versus traditional senior high schools such as Rossmoyne, Applecross and Willeton?
(3) Have any studies been conducted to determine the success of the middle school system that has been in operation in Geraldton for several years?
(4) What hard data or information, based upon academic research, league tables or graduation rates exist to convince the people of Busselton that middle schools achieve the desired high quality of education and academic results?

Three reviews carried out by the Department: · ‘An Initial Study of the restructure of Secondary Education in Geraldton’ , May, 1998. · ‘ Geraldton Secondary College – Local Area Education Planning Monitoring’ , Semester 1, 1999. · ‘Geraldton Secondary College Review’ , 2001. 4. As middle schooling has been in operation only for a short time in Western Australia, there has been no research on outcomes at this stage. However, global case studies indicate that this is the preferred model for students.
