990. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the Attorney General representing the Minister for Police:
(1) As a
signatory of the policy framework for substantive equality, can the Minister
for Police please table all WA Police needs and impact assessments for —
(a) 2012;
(b) 2013; and
(c) 2014?
(2) Can the
minister please table the current WA police workforce and diversity action
plan?

AnswerView source ↗

On behalf of the Minister for Police, I thank the honourable
member for some notice of this question.
(1) (a) WA Police has not conducted any needs and impact
assessments for this period.
(b) A needs
and impact assessment was initiated in 2013 in partnership with the Equal Opportunity
Commission and professional development within WA Police as part of the areas
recruitment and retention review. The naming convention was changed to ''equity
impact assessment'' to be specific to WA Police. Delays experienced as a
result of WA Police reform resulted in an application to the corporate
governance group for diversity management in March 2014 to extend the deadline
for its completion. The corporate governance group for diversity management
agreed to place the ETA on hold to be finalised post completion of the
recruitment and retention review.
(c) WA Police has not conducted
any needs and impact assessments for this period.
(2) I table the attached document.
