(1) Antenatal midwife clinics recommenced at Kalamunda Hospital in July 2009. The Department of Health is awaiting the Department of Treasury and Finance's confirmation of Business Case approval for the construction of delivery suite facilities; the project cannot commence prior to receipt of this written approval. It is anticipated that the Community Midwifery Program run service will be operational by January 2011.
(2) (a) It is expected admissions will commence at Midland Health Campus in 2015.
(2) (b) Strategies include:
· Development and delivery of re-entry/refresher programs to encourage staff to return to the health workforce.
· Targeted interstate and international recruitment.
· Provision of scholarships and bursaries.
· Marketing programs aimed at attracting school leavers into health careers.
· Collaboration with education providers to increase educational/training opportunities.
(3) The Western Australian Government will fund a 12 month internship for all Western Australian domestic medical graduates, and provide structured supervision to enable continuing on-the-job postgraduate training in Western Australia.
