parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to restricted tender
DOT400216 and the estimated $87 175 to be spent on a review of three transport
subsidy schemes.
(1) Can the
minister rule out any reduction in either eligibility or payments associated
with any of the three subsidy schemes under review?
(2) If the intent
of the review is not to reduce or scale back any of the schemes in any way,
what is the intent of the estimated $87 175 review?

is an internal review. The intent of the review is to look for improvements to
the way the schemes are administered and to evaluate the effectiveness of the
administration of the schemes in achieving the original objectives. Should the
review indicate that changes to eligibility or payments may be required,
further external consultation would be undertaken.
