1083. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to the minister's
answer on 14 September 2023 to my question without notice that revealed that as
at 12 September 2023, there were 50 return to prison warrants outstanding
including one for 2 147 days for a fugitive that the minister does not deem it
necessary to name.
(1) What were the circumstances that gave rise to this
fugitive escaping custody or monitoring more than five years ago?
(2) Will the minister release
information about the number and nature of this fugitive's crimes?
(3) What is the age and sex of this
fugitive?
(4) Has this fugitive now been
captured?

information has been provided to me by the Acting Minister for Police. The Western
Australia Police Force and Department of Justice advise the following.
(1) A home visit
was conducted to the parolee's address and his brother advised that the
parolee had flown to New South Wales to be with family with no intention to
return.
(2) One, by gains benefit by fraud.
(3) A male whose date of birth is
26 March 1989.
(4) No. The offender is in custody
in New South Wales.
