Is the minister currently, directly or indirectly, using the services of the former Director General of the Department of Justice, Alan Piper, to undertake the scoping exercise for the new 75-bed secure facility to be built adjacent to Hakea Prison; and, if so, what is his role and what is the cost to the government of his services? Mr J.A. McGINTY

As I understand the arrangements, one of the large national accounting firms - it may be KPMG, but I am not sure - has been involved in some of the scoping work for the Department of Health and the Department of Justice in putting together the proposal for a new forensic mental health facility. I understand that Alan Piper is a consultant to that firm and is, in that sense, involved in helping put together the scoping for the new secure mental health facility. The SPEAKER : Question time is now finished.
