(1) The Minister for Planning informed His Worship the Mayor of Bunbury on 28 April 2009 of the establishment of the Bunbury Waterfront Taskforce.
(2) The composition of the Taskforce will consist of the Mayor of Bunbury or a nominee, the Director General of the Department for Planning and Infrastructure, the Chief Executive Officer from LandCorp and the Director General from the Department of Environment and Conservation, or their nominees.
(3) Hon John Castrilli MLA, Member for Bunbury.
(4) The terms of reference will include the following:
(i)Define the Regional Open Space, City Centre uses and uses of State interest
(ii)Create a policy statement for the development of any area identified for urban purposes
(iii)Establish any requirements that may be associated with an environmental review of the project area or transport planning
(iv)Progress the procedure for an amendment to the Greater Bunbury Region Scheme; and
(v)To meet at the request of the Chairman of the Taskforce.
(5) The Chairman will report back to me after the first meeting but I expect a set of recommendations in approximately 4 months to progress matters referred in the terms of reference.
