Western Australia like all other jurisdictions in Australia does not cost patients in Emergency Departments on the basis of their diagnosis. Emergency Department patients costs are estimated and funded based on Urgency and Disposition or by reference to their birth decade or age, whether they arrived by emergency service vehicle and whether they were referred to Emergency Department by a health clinician.
