I refer to the Department’s Cottier Apartments in South Hedland and ask: (a) What is the weekly rent being received from: (i) each of the public housing tenants; (ii) each of the Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) tenants; (iii) each of the private lease tenants; and (iv) each of the non-government organisation tenants; (b) what is the number of bedrooms/bathrooms associated with each rental payment outlined in a (i) to a (iv); (c) are any apartments currently for sale; (d) if yes to (c): (i) how many are currently for sale; (ii) for how long has each apartment been on sale; and (iii) what is the asking price for each apartment; and (e) what is the most recent valuation of the Cottier Apartments complex?

The Housing Authority advises:
(a)
(i)
Public housing tenants (units 12, 18, 37 and 39) pay 25 per cent of their assessable household income, in accordance with the public housing rent setting policy.
(ii) The properties are leased to the Department of Education at the rate below.
Unit 25: $1 000 per week.
Unit 27: $800 per week.
Unit 31: $800 per week.
Unit 33: $1 000 per week.

Unit 3: $600 per week.
Unit 6: $600 per week.
Unit 8: $1 000 per week.
Unit 10: $600 per week.
Unit 11: $600 per week.
Unit 13: $1 000 per week.
Unit 14: $550 per week.
Unit 15: $600 per week.
Unit 17: $700 per week.
Unit 19: $600 per week.
Unit 22: $500 per week.

(d)
(i) 31, of which 23 are privately leased.
(ii) Two years and five months. Given the prevailing property market in South Hedland, the Housing Authority has chosen to privately lease the units and is not actively marketing the complex for sale, although offers will be considered.
(iii)
One-bedroom one bathroom: $470 000-$499 000.
Two-bedroom one bathroom: $525 000-$565 000.
Two-bedroom two-bathroom: $630 000-$650 000.
Three-bedroom two-bathroom: $650 000-$735 000.
(e) The most recent book value provided by the Valuer General is $13 770 000.
