1. Options for the future provision of rehabilitation services for Western Australia are currently under review, including the future location of these services.
2. This will be dependent on the preferred location of the rehabilitation services/centre.
3. A new facility, or major redevelopment of the current facility, which enables the delivery of contemporary models of care in a safe clinical environment, is needed. The collocation of rehabilitation services with acute hospital services may provide potential efficiencies that are yet to be explored.
4. 15.78 hectares
5. The most recent formal valuation was undertaken in June 2006. The value at that time was $120 million.
6. The valuation undertaken in 2006 was by an independent valuer - Jones Lang LaSalle.
7. The land is zoned "Public Purpose - Hospital" under the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
8. The Clinical Services Framework identified the Fiona Stanley Hospital as the preferred location for the State Rehabilitation Centre. This location would maximise the links to a tertiary facility and provide a greenfield site to enable a purpose built facility. As a result of the decision to retain Royal Perth Hospital, a re-evaluation of options for the future location of the State Rehabilitation Services is being undertaken.
9. This is one of a range of options that will be considered.
(a) This decision is yet to be made, however this is one of a range of options that will be considered.
