Hospital redevelopments—WA-made green steel
608. Ms Sandra Brewer to
the Minister for Health Infrastructure:
I have a
supplementary question.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, please stop
those unnecessary disorderly interjections.
Ms Sandra Brewer: Does the minister stand by the
Premier's statement of 9 November that the new hospitals will be built using WA-made
green steel?
Point of order
Mr David Michael: Point of order.
The Speaker: There is a point of order, and I see what
it is.
Mr David Michael: Mr Speaker, the opposition continues
to hold up props randomly.
The Speaker: Correct. The opposition was told not to
do that. You asked if you could use a prop when someone was speaking. I said
you could use a prop when someone was speaking. But anyone sitting around in
the chairs who is not contributing cannot hold up a prop. Do not do that again.
Questions without notice resumed
The Speaker: Member for Cottesloe, please repeat the supplementary
question.
Ms Sandra Brewer: Does the minister stand by the
Premier's statement of 9 November that the new hospitals will be built using
WA-made green steel or is he just looking at it?

Mr John Carey: I say, "Bring back David Honey"!
Seriously. I never thought I would say this, but please bring back David Honey!
At least he had a sense of humour.
During question time
today, the Premier outlined our position to facilitate green steel. It is a
fantastic aspiration and ambition, and we should be working hard—

The Speaker: Members of the opposition!
Mr John Carey: The other side and the Liberal leader are
more interested in funding billion-dollar river foreshore plans as opposed to
this side, which will buy Mount Lawley hospital, build a new Peel Health Campus
and build a six-storey emergency department and other storeys at Royal Perth.
