PERTH CHILDREN'S
HOSPITAL — AISHWARYA ASWATH — INDEPENDENT INQUIRY REPORT
852. Ms L. METTAM to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Spin aside, when will the supernumerary team be actually implemented?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please,
members!
Point of Order
Mr D.A. TEMPLEMAN : Again,
the supplementary is simply a supplementary, not a preamble.
The SPEAKER : That is right.
I believe the member for Vasse is aware of that and will just ask a single
question that related to the first question.
Questions without Notice Resumed
Ms L. METTAM : How many more years
will Western Australians have to wait for a supernumerary resuscitation team as
promised?

I
think in the member's original supplementary question we saw writ large
the attitudes that the Liberal Party brings to the health debate. From the
tragedy of a young girl who lost her life while being cared for by the Western Australian healthcare system, the member for Vasse seeks to gain rank political opportunity
and advantage.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Mr R.H. COOK : She seeks to
turn a tragic event into some sort of distorted, bizarre and contorted
political advantage. Quite frankly, I
think the people of Western Australia are sick and tired of it. They are sick
and tired of this negativity and poison that comes from those opposite
on this issue. Western Australians want to see a WA government that continues to invest in health care and continues
to make sure that our healthcare system is the best in the country, and that is exactly what they get, which is the reason that they respect the work
that the WA government is undertaking at the moment and they hold in contempt
the rank political opportunism of those opposite.
