533. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
(1) What is the current length of
the platform at —
(a) Perth underground station; and
(b) Esplanade rail station?
(2) What is the estimated cost to extend these platforms to a
length of 225 metres?

On behalf of the
Minister for Commerce, I provide the following response —
(1) They are 150
metres in both directions.
(2) At this stage it is expected that a
study will commence in early September 2012 and be completed by mid-2013. Any
indication of cost for extending platforms at this early stage is purely
speculative.
