Minister for Police:
I refer to my question without
notice 140 asked on 10 March 2020 to the Minister for Transport concerning the
unauthorised acquisition between 12 and 22 June 2017 by one Andrew Forrester of
confidential personal information of some 1 750 employees of the Public
Transport Authority, and his disclosure of that information to the Australian
Rail, Tram and Bus Union for its use in industrial agreement negotiations.
(1) Has Mr Forrester's
unauthorised access and disclosure of the data been referred to the Western Australia
Police Force, and what is the status of that investigation and any prosecution?
(2) If
prosecution action has not been taken against Mr Forrester, why not, who made
that decision and when?
(3) Has the
Australian Rail, Tram and Bus Union's unauthorised acquisition and use
of the information been investigated by the Western Australia Police Force, and
what is the status of that investigation and any prosecution?
(4) If prosecution action has not been taken against
any union official, why not, who made that decision and when?
