JOHN SETKA AND CHRISTY
CAIN
506. Mrs A.K. HAYDEN to the Minister for Women's Interests:
I have a supplementary question. In
relation to severing all contact with the Construction, Forestry, Maritime,
Mining and Energy Union, why is the minister refusing to show leadership about
denigrating behaviour towards women and what signal does her inaction —
Ms S.F. McGurk : Rubbish.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members.
Mrs A.K. HAYDEN : Sever all
contact. What signal does the minister's inaction send to the community
and workplaces across Western Australia?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!

I reiterate my point that I do not
think it serves anyone for domestic violence to be used as a political
plaything in this place or anywhere else. I have been clear in my criticism —
Mr A. Krsticevic interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Carine —
Ms S.F. McGURK : — as
has the Premier and the federal Leader of the Opposition, Anthony Albanese,
been clear in their criticism of John Setka, and our opinion of his role in the
Australian Labor Party. I do not think we are being weak about that. We have
been very clear about it. I do not think it serves anyone for the opposition,
or the member, to use domestic violence as a political plaything.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members, please.
