554. Hon LINDA
SAVAGE to the minister representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the $49.7 million allocated over four years to
reduce waiting times for therapies at the state Child Development Service. What
are the current waiting times to access the following child development
services in the metropolitan area —
(a) speech pathology;
(b) occupational therapy;
(c) physiotherapy;
(d) clinical psychology;
(e) social work; and
(f) an appointment with a
paediatrician at the service?

As at 30 June 2012, average waiting times to access child
development services in the metropolitan area were as follows —
(a) speech pathology, 10.9 months;
(b) occupational therapy, 8.8 months;
(c) physiotherapy, 7.7 months;
(d) clinical psychology, 7.7 months;
(e) social work, six months; and
(f) paediatrician, 14.5 months.
