I refer to the number of detectives deployed in the North West metropolitan region, and I ask:
(a) can the Minister indicate how many were working in that region in:
(i) 2009–2010;
(ii) 2010–2011; and
(iii) 2011–2012;
(b) if the numbers of detectives are decreasing, what is the reason for the decrease; and
(c) what measures are being taken to restore the appropriate levels of staffing?

(a) The North West Metropolitan District had the following total number of Detectives working in that District:
(i) 2009-2010, 28 Detectives (as at 1/12/2009)
(ii) 2010-2011, 35 Detectives (as at 1/12/2010)
(iii) 2011-2012, 37 Detectives (as at 1/12/2011)
(b) The number of Detectives has not decreased over the nominated time periods.
