AVONLINK TRAIN SERVICE
1239. Hon DARREN WEST to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) How many
paying passengers travelled on the AvonLink train service in each of the following months in 2014 and 2015 —
(a) April;
(b) May;
(c) June;
(d) July;
(e) August; and
(f) September?
(2) What was the
total subsidy paid by government, inclusive of subsidies paid by both the
Public Transport Authority and royalties for regions, in each of those months
listed in (1)?

(1) The following
paying passengers travelled on the AvonLink train service in each of the following months in 2014 and 2015 —
(a) April 2014, 1 091 passengers, 38
services; April 2015, 1 728 passengers, 98 services;
(b) May 2014, 1 086 passengers, 44
services; May 2015, 2 135 passengers, 124 services;
(c) June 2014, 940 passengers, 40
services; June 2015, 1 858 passengers, 118 services;
(d) July 2014, 1 177 passengers, 46
services; July 2015, 2 397 passengers, 127 services;
(e) August 2014, 1 064 passengers, 42
services; August 2015, 1 911 passengers, l20 services; and
(f) September
2014, 1 175 passengers, 42 services; September 2015, 1 983 passengers, 122 services.
(2) The total
subsidies paid for the six-month period from April to September 2014 was $606 312.84
and from April to September 2015 it was $1 067 089.51.
