I thank Hon Bruce Donaldson for some notice of the question. I am not sure whether it is the right question, because there is no reference to retirement in the copy I have. (1) It has no status as there is no draft legislation pertaining to pearling currently under consideration. However, certain advice and propositions put to the department and me are currently under review by an expert independent panel, which is due to report to me in due course. Hon Norman Moore : Don’t you ever make decisions yourself? Hon JON FORD : People are complaining about decisions made. I have a bit of a record. (2) The Department of Fisheries and my office continues to liaise with the pearling industry. (3) Not applicable.
