I refer to the growing public
housing waitlist in Western Australia.
(1) For the end of each financial year 2016 to 2021,
what is the total number of people represented by applications on the
public housing waitlist?
(2) How many of these people are
under the age of 18?

of each financial year, the total number of people on the public housing
waitlist was 36 167 in 2016; 29 544 in 2017;
23 257 in 2018; 22 927 in 2019; and 23 928 in 2020. End of financial year
figures for 2021 are not yet available.
(2) The requested information about the age of people
represented by the applications on the waiting list is not readily
available in the Department of Communities' information systems. I therefore
ask the honourable member to place this question on notice.
