1050. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Environment:
I refer to the recent media
announcement, ''Local communities to share in $7.2 million tree recovery
package'' on 24 August 2024.
(1) What is the percentage of canopy
cover for metropolitan Perth?
(2) What is the percentage of canopy
cover for the Perth and Peel regions?
(3) How many
trees are anticipated to be planted at Perth Zoo as part of this funding
announcement and how much has been budgeted for this site?
(4) How many
trees are anticipated to be planted at Hyde Park as part of this funding
announcement and how much has been budgeted for this site?

Minister for Environment.
(1)–(2) I kindly ask the
member to redirect this question to the Minister for Planning.
(3)–(4) The
number of trees to be planted at the Perth Zoo and Hyde Park is under
assessment. There has been $250 000 allocated to Perth Zoo. The remaining
budget will be allocated based on need.
