1. In 2014, approximately $285 million was made available to support students with disabilities. The funding allocation to schools for Education Assistant time cannot be reported because the funding was not provided as education assistant time for all schools. Independent Public Schools were provided with the funding as a dollar amount through their one-line budgets.
2. The
Schools Plus
Program concluded at the end of 2014 with the introduction of the Student-Centred Funding Model.  In 2015, $305 million has been made available to schools through the Student-Centred Funding Model Disability Allocation, including the new Educational Adjustment allocation. As the funding is not provided as education assistant time, the amount allocated for schools for Education Assistants cannot be reported.
3. The total number of students funded through
Schools Plus
in 2014 is not available, as the record keeping within the database is updated daily. As at 30 June 2014, the
Schools Plus
Program supported 8,611 students and as at
31 December 2014, 8,771 students were supported.
4. As at 31 October 2015, 9,557 students with an eligible diagnosis have been supported during the course of this year. This figure changes daily due to movements in student enrolments and eligibility.
5. The Department of Education does not maintain records of the number of applications that did not meet eligibility criteria for
Schools Plus
funding. Applications that met eligibility were resourced appropriately through the
Schools Plus
Program. Refer to question 3 for number of students supported.
6. The Department of Education does not maintain records of the number of applications that do not meet eligibility criteria for the Individual Disability Allocation. Applications that met eligibility criteria were resourced appropriately through the Individual Disability Allocation. Refer to question 4 for number of students supported.
