The Department of Housing advises:
(a)
The assessment will be completed by November 2013. It was initially anticipated that
the assessment would be completed in October 2013, however, broader input has been sought and received from local communities requiring additional coordination and analysis.
(b)
The purpose of the study is to:

Undertake a comprehensive assessment of current and future housing needs in the South West region;
·
Incorporate innovative analysis models of future housing needs; and
·
Identify measures to address housing diversity and mix, housing affordability, and housing for people with special needs, particularly older people.

(c)
Once relevant findings and recommendations have been considered by government, appropriate information and consultation will occur with stakeholders, including the community, around any proposed actions.
