The King Edward Memorial Hospital website ( www.wnhs.health.wa.gov.au ) contains the most up-to-date information available to all WA Health consumers in relation to unplanned pregnancies.
It is regularly updated by the hospital to ensure that the services are trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and appropriate, women-centred as required, as well as embedded within the framework of new legislative reform.
This information includes services that provide abortion care and support and counselling services including the 1800 RESPECT helpline.
Information for Health Professionals, also on the King Edward Memorial Hospital website, provides abortion care information for health practitioners including a list of support and counselling services. These services have been engaged by the WA Health Department to provide free, unbiased counselling, information and support for those considering their options around contraception, unplanned pregnancies and abortion, and those that require post-abortion support and counselling.
