I refer to the proposed removal/relocation of the Railway line near the Mt Percy Open pits and mining operations in Kalgoorlie-Boulder -
(1) Has the Minister or her Departments received a submission or written comments from the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources concerning this proposal?
(2) If yes to (1), -
(a) on what date were they received; and
(b) what was the Department of Mineral and Petroleum’s position on the matter?

(2) Not applicable. (3) The Kalgoorlie Rail Realignment project is a long-term strategic assessment of the feasibility of re-routing the rail system to the outskirts of Kalgoorlie. At this time the project is at concept stage and has not attempted to address all the issues involved. The Department for Planning and Infrastructure has completed a cost benefit analysis, which recognises that some parts of the realignment will require mineralisation clearances should the project proceed to a more advanced stage.
