minister representing the Minister for Community Services:
I refer to the Minister for Community Services' media
statement of 24 November 2015 about a new model for financial counselling in
Perth.
(1) Which
organisations outside of the 10 service delivery organisations mentioned in the
statement will receive funding for metropolitan financial counselling services?
(2) When will
not-for-profit organisations be advised about whether they will receive funding
from this latest announcement?
(3) How many tenders were received?
(4) What is
the total net loss to financial counselling funding in Western Australia
following announcements by the Barnett government in 2015?

I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1) The
Financial Counsellors Association of WA will receive funding to provide a
sector support service for the financial counselling sector.
(2) All tenderers were notified of the tender outcome on 23
November 2015.
(3) Twenty tenders were received.
(4) Funding
for the new metropolitan financial counselling service model, including sector
support, is $2 million. This funding was announced in September 2015 as part of
the consultation with the financial counselling sector. The tender announcement
is the culmination of the collaborative work undertaken by both the financial
counselling sector and the Department of Local Government and Communities. A
total of $5.75 million will be provided in 2015–16 for state financial
counselling services.
