Department of Planning
(1) The Department of Planning and the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) share a website, Planning WA (converted from the WAPC's former stand-alone site).
The Department of Planning also manages an Online Procurement Training website hosted by highway1, and websites for Whiteman Park and Araluen Park, both hosted by Sumo.
(2) The former Department for Planning and Infrastructure's website has been re-badged as the Department of Transport website, dominated by content such as Licensing, Marine, Taxis and other traditional functions of the transport portfolio. The Transport site is maintained by Planning under a Service Level Agreement to 30 June 2010.
(3) A website is not a discrete facility. It provides a single 'window' for accessing content and transactions provided by a variety of systems and authors. The level of integration of a system with the website varies significantly and the boundary between what constitutes the website versus the system components is not easily resolved. Costs are therefore shared across a wide cross-section of the agency and are not assigned to categories clearly identified as 'website'.
(4) Neither the Department of Planning/WAPC nor Department of Transport requested website funding increases for the 2009 mid-year review.
