I refer to Budget Paper No. 2, Volume 2 at page 539 "Outcomes, Services and Key Performance Information – Service Summary", line item "Significant Issues impacting the Agency – Mental Illness and the Criminal Justice System", and ask: (a) is the evaluation currently underway; (b) when will it be completed; (c) will the evaluation be made public; (d) if no to (c), why not; (e) if yes to (c), when will the evaluation be released and will it be released for public comment; and (f) when will the program be extended to the South West region?

(a) Yes.
(b) Completion of the process evaluation is anticipated by 31 December 2013.
(c-e) The report will be provided to the Minister for Mental Health, together with advice about information that can be published in order to protect the privacy of those who have participated in the trial.
(f) A business case is currently being developed in relation to the pilot programs and this will be informed by the evaluation. The business case will address the scope of the program and associated funding and consideration of this will be part of the normal budget process.
