I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes. Western Australia, like all other States and Territories, is a signatory to the National Environment Protection Measure for the Movement of Controlled Waste between States and Territories. The Environmental Protection (Controlled Waste) Regulations 2001 enable this NEPM to be enforced in Western Australia. (2) Not applicable. (3) (a) The minister has been advised by the Department of Environmental Protection that the requirements of schedule B are incorporated in the consignment authorisation form. This is a generic document used by all States, with some modification for local needs. The subsequent consignment authorisation is issued by the State or Territory of destination. (b) The documents requested cannot be supplied at this time as Victoria was the State of destination. A request has been made to Victoria for this documentation and it will be supplied to the member by the Department of Environmental Protection when available.
