I refer to a letter dated September 4 2003 signed by Mr Jim Limerick, Director General Department of Industry and Resources addressed to Mr S. Kean -
(1) Can the Minister state why the Director General has deliberately only focused on referring to ‘evidence’ held on departmental files when Mr Tony Cooke has also made it clear in a letter dated March 25 2003 stating ‘Mr Kean has a lot of documentation to support his claim of contamination of the ground water on his tenement, rising ground water levels, environmental damage etc. Mr Kean has sourced most of these documents from your department, the Department of Environmental Protection through the FOI process and other sources,’ clearly indicating to the Director General that there is a lot of documentation other than just what he refers to as evidence on Department of Industry and Resources files?
(2) If no to (2), why not?
