With regards to the Department of Mines and Petroleum’s(DMP) Annual Report 2009-10, I ask -
(1) The report states on page 77, that no further potential contaminated sites were identified, but mentions 16 sites. Can the Minister advise how many contaminated sites were identified by the DMP last year?
(2) What and where, are the 16 potential sites the report refers to?
(3) What and where are the three suspected sites the report refers to?
(4) On what dates were the three suspected sites reported to the Department of Environment and Conservation?
(5) Can the Minister please detail which resource company the DMP is litigating against in the Federal Court?
(6) Why may the DMP be liable for court costs in the range of $1 million to $2 million, if the case is unsuccessful, but not damages?
