I refer the minister to her comments in this House on Tuesday, 28 October, in which she was unable to respond with regard to the lack of alcohol and violence programs, and counselling, for women in Broome Regional Prison. I further refer the minister to the Broome Regional Prison business plan 2002-03, which states that presently male indigenous offenders receive a program for substance use and anger management through the IMMASU - the indigenous men managing anger and substance use - program provided by the Men’s Outreach Centre; however, no program currently exists for female offenders. (1) Have the recommendations contained in the business plan been implemented; and, if so, when did this occur? (2) If not, will the minister undertake to implement the recommendations as a matter of urgency, given that the majority of the offences committed by the women in that prison relate to substance abuse and violence? Mrs M.H. ROBERTS

(1)-(2) I thank the member for Nedlands for the question. The member has raised this matter previously, and it has been pointed out to her that she has got her facts wrong. Programs are available for women at Broome Regional Prison.
