(1) Can the Minister confirm that there are currently 6 train movements each hour on each of the two rail lines linking Perth and Claremont station during the morning and afternoon peak periods? (2) If not what is the maximum frequency of train movements per hour between these stations on weekdays? (3) What will be the peak frequency of train movements per hour between Bayswater and Forrestfield once this new line is fully operational and what date is this likely to be? (4) What further rail movements on the Perth to Claremont line will result from the additional rail movements on the new Bayswater to Forrestfield line? (5) What will be the peak frequency of train movements per hour between Bayswater and Ellenbrook once this new line is fully operational and what date is this likely to be? (6) What further rail movements on the Perth to Claremont line will result from the additional rail movements on the new Bayswater to Ellenbrook line? (7) What will be the frequency of trains per hour on each of the rail lines between Perth and Claremont Stations when both the Airport and Ellenbrook rail lines are in full operation? (8) What additional rail infrastructure will be built on the rail corridor between Perth and Claremont stations to cater for additional rail movements when both the Airport and Ellenbrook rail lines are in full operation? (9) What is the estimated cost of this rail infrastructure and will this cost be attributed to either of the Ellenbrook or Airport line construction costs?

Minister for Transport; Planning
Response time
14 days
(1)  Yes
(2)  Not applicable.
(3 to 7)  The operational planning for the network following the commencement of Airport and Ellenbrook Line services is currently being finalised.
(8 to 9)  There will be two additional sidings at Claremont to accommodate Airport Line train services and signalling upgrades to accommodate the increased frequency for Airport and Ellenbrook Line trains. The sidings at Claremont are part of current works that are underway which include platform modifications, localised signalling, and control system changes. The additional signalling upgrades between Bayswater and Daglish will be dependent on the final detailed design from the Morley Ellenbrook Project.
