(2) Has the Department had any formal dialogue with Friends of Australian Rock Art Inc, the International Federation of Rock Art Organisations, the Australian Anthropological Society, the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc, the Australian Archaeological Association, the Australian Rock Art Research Association, the National Trust Australia WA Inc, or the Western Australian Heritage Council?
(3) If yes to (2), when and with whom?
(4) If no or no in part, to (2), is formal dialogue being considered with these parties?
(5) If yes to (4), when will such dialogue occur with each party?

The Department of Indigenous Affairs advises:
(1) The Department of Indigenous Affairs (DIA) has already established relationships with Aboriginal stakeholder groups, State and Commonwealth Government agencies and industry stakeholders. DIA is involved in and committed to an ongoing dialogue to develop heritage management strategies to protect and preserve the outstanding heritage values of the Dampier Archipelago.
(2) No.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) DIA has an informal dialogue with a number of these groups. As the heritage management strategies for the area develop through the Northern Development Taskforce and community consultation, a formal dialogue is anticipated.
