The Minister for Environment has provided the following response:
(1) There was no other source of the Conservation Commission's request to withdraw its appeal.
(2)-(5) I am advised that following lodgement of the appeal, the Conservation Commission undertook further research into its concerns and, in discussion with the Department of Environment and Conservation and the Environmental Protection Authority, gained confidence that the specific concerns held by the Commission in relation to regional environmental values, had been adequately represented by the Department of Environment and Conservation.
