COMMUNITIES — SOCIAL HOUSING MODELLING
1511. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the minister representing the
Minister for Housing:
In 2015, the Department of Housing
published research assessing the unmet social housing need based on 2011 census
data. That research identified 28 000 households on very low incomes in need of
public housing, and a further 36 000 low or moderate-income households in need
of affordable housing.
(1) Has the Department of Communities undertaken any
subsequent research to model unmet demand for social housing?
(2) If yes to
(1), what is the latest or current estimate of demand for social and affordable
housing in WA?
(3) If yes to (1), will the
minister please table the research?
