(1) The current (April 2005) weekday traffic volumes on Mitchell Freeway north of the Hepburn Avenue interchange are: North Bound = 41 400 vehicles per day (vpd) South Bound = 41 400 vpd (2) Yes - Main Roads has performed a study on the traffic impacts predicted to occur when Mitchell Freeway is extended to Shenton Avenue and to Burns Beach Road in 2007. To establish the traffic impacts of the Freeway extension traffic forecast modelling was undertaken in the area bounded by Marmion Avenue, Burns Beach Road, Joondalup Drive and Hodges Drive. (3) Traffic Modelling based on 2006 Estimated Traffic Volumes indicate: a) Freeway constructed to Hodges Drive (Existing scenario) Mitchell Freeway south of Hodges Drive: 23 850 vehicles per day (vpd) in each direction b) Freeway constructed to Shenton Avenue Mitchell Freeway south of Hodges Drive: 28 100 vpd each direction Mitchell Freeway south of Shenton Avenue: 13 950 vpd each direction c) Freeway constructed to Burns Beach Road Mitchell Freeway south of Hodges Drive: 28 800 vpd each direction Mitchell Freeway south of Shenton Avenue: 16 750 vpd each direction Mitchell Freeway south of Burns Beach Road: 11 900 vpd each direction (4) Not applicable.
