(1) Has the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA) embarked upon any community awareness campaigns to alert rural communities of the spread of cottonbush and the responsibility of landowners to control and eradicate this declared plant growing on their properties? (2) If yes to (1): (a) what type of campaign has been undertaken; (b) how much funding has been allocated to this campaign in the 2013-14 financial year; and (c) how much has been spent to date? (3) If no to (1), why not? (4) Has DAFWA embarked upon any awareness campaign with other State Government departments or Government trading enterprises to advise them of their responsibilities in relation to the control and eradication of cotton bush and other declared species? (5) If no to (4), why not?

(2)(a) A key component in the control of cotton bush and other established declared weeds is to raise awareness of landholder responsibilities. This has been done through a series of public meetings and has led to the adoption of a community coordinated approach.
