FISHERMEN, COMMERCIAL — COMPENSATION PACKAGE
I refer to the government’s compensation package, which was announced some time ago, for commercial fishermen who fished in the 31 degrees to 33 degrees parallels of latitude south being prohibited from fishing in this region. (1) Has any compensation been paid yet to the 27 fishermen affected? (2) If not, when does the minister expect the assessments to be finalised and their compensation paid? (3) Will the assessments for compensation take place for the nine shark fishermen who have also been prohibited from fishing in the same region? Hon JON FORD
