FOETAL
HOMICIDE LAWS — DRAFTING PROGRESS
863. Hon KATE DOUST to the
Attorney General:
The Attorney General
will recall that I asked on 22 May 2013, 18 September 2013, 13 May 2014 and 14
October 2014 about when he would introduce foetal homicide laws. On each
occasion he informed us that they would be introduced shortly. I also asked on
Wednesday, 3 December 2014 the same question. On that occasion, he said that a
cabinet submission was being prepared. I ask again today: when will he actually
introduce that legislation, or is he simply misleading this house and the
community about his intentions to introduce legislation for foetal homicide
laws?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for the question.
A bill has been prepared
that addresses the issue that is the subject of some further consideration on
aspects that have been raised with me. No; I am not misleading the house or the
community. A bill will be introduced shortly.
