I refer to nine houses (Lots 27, 76, 101, 151, and 168) at the Jigalong Community that have recently been upgraded by the Department of Housing, and to photographs available at,

entitled ‘2010-07-13 Plumbing Jigalong Housing’, showing broken and blocked plumbing at these lots, and ask -
(1) On what date were the upgrades on lots 27, 76, 101, 151 and 168 completed?
(2) On what date were these houses approved for habitation by the Department?
(3) Has the Minister or the Department of Housing received any notification of plumbing problems at any of the nine houses?
(4) If yes to (3), -
(a) on what dates were these notifications received; and
(b) will the Minister table these notifications?
(5) If no to (3), why not?
(6) If notifications regarding plumbing problems at the houses have been received what action is the Department taking to rectify the damage, and when are repairs expected to be completed?

The Department of Housing advises:
(1) The housing upgrade works reached practical completion on 29 June 2010.
(2) The houses were approved for occupation on 29 June 2010.
(3) Yes, the Department of Housing has received notification of plumbing problems.
(4)
(a)-(b) The first notification of plumbing problems was received on 7 July 2010.  Subsequent phone calls have been received in relation to the issue, however as the matter was already receiving attention, formal records have not been made.
(5) Not applicable
(6) The Department can confirm that the plumbing issues have been attended to progressively as blockages occurred.  The practical completion inspection of the houses included checking of the plumbing however the problems, caused by solidified blockages in the drainage pipes, did not become evident until continued use of the plumbing fixtures occurred after occupation.  The final blockage clearance was completed on 8 August 2010.
