These acquisitions are related to the ongoing development of the adjoining townships of Karratha and Port Hedland. LandCorp will then undertake the acquisition and subsequent development of these industrial estates when commitments are made by industry to locate in the estate and on the basis of financial arrangements to be agreed with Government. The Burrup land is expected to be the first area of development. LandCorp is proposing to develop the Burrup Peninsula East West Service corridor to link gas to liquids projects to the Port of Dampier, as part of the State's infrastructure package to attract gas based value adding industry.
