(1) Is the minister aware that in late 1996 a contract for environmental studies of the Albion town development at Caversham was let by his department to Ecoscape (Australia) Pty Ltd without a date specified for finalisation and presentation of a report? (2) Is the minister aware that no report has been presented to the Department of Housing and Works? (3) Is the minister aware that delays have been caused to the Albion town project because Ecoscape has not reported? (4) Will the minister have this matter investigated, including consultants’ fees paid or payable to Ecoscape, and report his findings to this House? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

AnswerView source ↗

(1)-(4) I am aware of the honourable member’s interest in the Albion development. Hon Derrick Tomlinson: I hope you do not mean a vested interest. Hon NICK GRIFFITHS: I am aware that these matters have been proceeding for a not inconsiderable time and they are a matter of some angst for our mutual constituents. In fact I anticipate seeing one of them again fairly shortly. I note what the honourable member has said and he will have a considered response very soon.
